Shred Out Cancer

Holly’s farewell

I regret to inform everyone that Holly has passed away. She, I and our entire family would like to thank everyone for their love and support. We will still have the event for her on November 14th in her honor. Remaining proceeds from the event will go to other families in the Shred Out Cancer “funding families” program, as she wished. Please pray for her……Love ya sis!

Holly Burke (Ditzel), 19

Always loving, always laughing, always smiling; she enjoyed life and the love and friendship from friends and family. A Prom Queen, a philanthropist, a sister, and friend to many, Holly furthers her kindness through leadership with her request to continue Shred Out Cancer, the non-profit organization established in her name and for her cause. Much maturer than her age, Holly’s dedication leaves an opportunity for those affected with cancer and their families to live life and fight to end Clear Cell Sarcoma, and cancer overall. She proudly leaves behind a courageous mom, Carol, a great athlete and loving brother, Scott, her loving father, Mike Burke, her fiance, Kyle, Joe and Chris Kostecki (her brothers and creators of Shred Out Cancer), Grandfather Herb Ditzel, and many family and friends who proudly revel in her courage and dedication. Holly, we wish you well, and know that you will look over us and await us in a better place.

    Dear Carol,
My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I remember our precious Holly so well as a fifth grader sitting in my room, always with a smile, always being a peacemaker, and always doing her best. She will be one of my students that I will never forget. I am so sorry that she won’t be able to add to this life, but her legacy will certainly be carried on through what she left behind. My 5th graders have heard her story and have been praying for your family.
Love and hope for the future,
    Carol Garrison
